It’s easy to learn — it’s as easy as making lists. And, it’s powerful enough to let you plan, let it go, then act at the right time. The Hit List scales with you, from simple list-making, to the power and flexibility of systems such as Getting Things Done (GTD) by David Allen, or your very own unique approach.

Life is complicated enough. The tool you use to manage life’s chaos doesn’t need to be. Keep it simple, with The Hit List. You can use it to manage a to-do list just like you would on a piece of paper. Or you can do much more. With The Hit List, the interface simplicity belies the power within.

Available for Mac (sold separately on the Mac App Store), and for iPhone, iPad as a Universal app. Use one app, or both with the included sync service to have everything you need at hand and in sync when you want it.

Pros and cons of The Hit List app for iPhone and iPad

The Hit List app good for

The Hit List is the app that is the most adapted to my way of thinking about tasks and projects. It doesnt make me follow a very specific mental model so I can have my way of doing things. Ive tried so many task managers... THL is my favorite.
Still the best GTD & personal Task-Management App on iOS & OSX!
I had a beta of the Mac version many years ago and then it went nowhere. iOS came along and I’ve been making do, now with the iPhone version and the Mac version I have all that I need. I have said goodbye to OmniFocus and a myriad of others. My app of choice to stay focused and productive and manage the books I am writing is The Hit List, I would give it five stars if I could change the order of my project folders on there iPhone app. I can change them on the Mac and then sync, and it works that way. I would also like to be able to adjust the default fonts and sizes on the Mac and iPhone app. Great app, the best productivity app I’ve used.
The Hit List for iPad Review Now with a new iPad version, The Hit List for iPad is a great addition to the THL family of apps. the app has maybe the best balance of simplicity, clean design, and smooth sync. The iPad version is very sparse in terms of colours or decorations, but organizes tasks and projects in a way that’s familiar and reflects the desktop app well. For $14.99 as a universal app, THL is also one of the more approachable solutions.
Ive been years using this app and comparing it with serious competitors such as Things, Wunderlist, 2DO, Todoist, Omnifocus, etc... The flexibility, the simplicity, and the powerful features of The Hit List are just unbeatable.

Some bad moments

Hit list has always been about the Mac app and you just learned to deal with the iPhone app. With this update, the iPhone app leapfrogs its desktop brother. Very intuitive, with swipes giving you access to most needed functions. Great instant editing makes this so much more useable than the previous version. I can’t wait to see what Karelia does with the desktop version and iPad. Based on this update, it will be worth the wait.
I have had the Mac version for quite some time and love the ease of use. I just needed a simple task manager with the ability of grouping tasks into projects and The Hit List works great for me. I have been waiting for an iOS version so I could take my tasks with me. I only wish this was a universal app designed to work on the iPad as well.
Overjoyed to see this on the App Store; I was beginning to think this day would never come, but a Christmas miracle has occurred! AND, the awesome, proprietary Sync Service is now FREE?!? Hallelujah! The only thing that I can think to suggest would be to add a landscape orientation for the 6 Plus. That, and — of course — a universal version that runs a customized version on iPads, too.
I love Hit List for Mac, and though I have tried so many other products I keep coming back to it. It fits my way of thinking. I am so excited to see the first release of the new owners be a product as amazing as Hit List 2 for iOS. Its visually stunning, fast, and super intuitive. I dont need tons of new features, this update shows Hit List is heading in the right direction. Great job and keep it up!
The first version was already a great app side by side with the desktop, but I often found myself leaving advanced tasks like cleaning up the inbox or setting repeats for desktop. Now its just as easy to do on mobile! It also feels faster and streamlined.
I’ve tried most of them. Things is beautiful but so irritating in how you create repeating tasks. Omniweb is okay, I really hate the layout of it. Most of the Google Tasks apps are decent but limited. The Hit List for some reason really clicks with me, I love the card layout and the general layout of the app. I just bought the desktop version and setup a javascript bookmark to bookmark sites from Safari into The Hit List. I really enjoy using this app.
